Supporting a Network of Hope This Christmas

We donated £500 to FareShare South West through The Big Give, doubling its impact to support food redistribution and provide vital meals across the South West.

This December, we were proud to support FareShare South West with a £500 donation as part of The Big Give Christmas Challenge. Thanks to the campaign’s generous match funding, our donation was doubled to £1,000 – instantly doubling its impact.

FareShare South West does vital work redistributing surplus food from the food industry to people who need it most, supporting over 340 charities, schools, and community hubs across the South West. Their work not only helps tackle food insecurity, but also reduces the devastating environmental impact of food waste by saving high-quality food that would otherwise go to waste.

Making a real difference when it matters most

The winter months are especially tough for individuals and families already struggling with the cost-of-living crisis. As temperatures drop and energy bills rise, many people are forced into impossible choices between heating their homes and putting a hot meal on the table – all while surrounded by messages of seasonal abundance.

With the support of donors through the Big Give Christmas Challenge, FareShare South West is sustaining a crucial safety net at a time when it’s needed most. This winter alone, they are working to share food for one million meals across the region, reaching families struggling to get by, people experiencing homelessness, and those who might otherwise face Christmas alone.

Lucy Bearn, CEO of FareShare South West, explains it perfectly:

“Without us, there’s no safety net. But together, we can sustain a network of hope.”

We’re delighted to share that the campaign achieved its goal, helping FareShare South West move significantly closer to their ambitious winter target and ensuring thousands of people across the South West have access to healthy, nutritious food when it matters most.

How you can help

If you’d like to support FareShare South West’s ongoing work, you can donate directly via their website: https://faresharesouthwest.org.uk/donate

Just £25 could help provide food for 100 comforting hot meals for people across the region hit hardest by the cost-of-living crisis.

We’re incredibly proud to have played a small part in supporting a charity that delivers such practical, meaningful impact in our local communities, and grateful to The Big Give for helping donations go even further.
