Araminta Campbell: Building Slick Functionality for a Luxury Textile Brand
The Client
Araminta Campbell is a luxury Scottish textile brand specialising in hand-woven and mill-woven pieces rooted in heritage, artistry, and sustainability. The brand emphasises quality, storytelling, and personal connection as central to its appeal.
Based just outside Edinburgh in a “castle-like” atelier, the brand designs wearables, interior textiles, bespoke tartans, and tweeds, often collaborating with rural Scottish mills or developing one-off handwoven creations.
Founder Araminta Birse-Stewart (née Campbell) remains deeply involved in every stage – from conceptual design to training new weavers – ensuring each piece carries her vision, narrative, and commitment to craft.
The Challenge
Araminta Campbell already had a beautifully crafted website that we built to showcase their artistry, heritage, and craftsmanship – but as the brand grew, so did their ambition. They wanted to extend their online presence to create an exclusive members’ portal that reflected the same level of luxury and personalisation as their handwoven textiles.
The goal was to deliver a high-end digital experience that provided private access to limited-edition pieces, bespoke recommendations, and behind-the-scenes insights into the making process. The challenge lay in balancing rich, dynamic storytelling with flawless functionality and performance – ensuring the new platform felt immersive, intuitive, and fast, while seamlessly integrating with the existing site.

Building on the strong foundations of the existing Araminta Campbell site, we designed and developed a fully bespoke members’ portal that redefined their digital experience. We created an elegant entry journey that introduced the exclusivity of the portal while allowing approved members to log in and access personalised content, collections, and recommendations. Within the portal, we built tailored sections such as “Your Wardrobe,” “Wishlist,” and “Picked by Minta” – each designed to bring the brand’s personal touch into the digital space.
Our focus was on creating a user experience that felt as refined as the brand itself. We used full-screen imagery, storytelling animations, and modular layouts to present collections in an immersive way while maintaining excellent site speed and usability.
Each product page was designed to tell its own story, featuring details about the weaver, the loom, and the materials behind every piece. Behind the scenes, we ensured flexibility for Araminta’s team, allowing them to update content, curate collections, and manage users with ease.
