CSRB: Welcoming Back a Returning Client
The Client
CSRB is a UK-based consultancy specialising in data privacy and GDPR compliance. The company offers certified, independent expertise with a national presence from its offices in Bristol and Manchester. Known for making complex regulations easy to understand, CSRB helps organisations strengthen their approach to personal data by promoting clear, practical information governance. Their work empowers businesses to reduce risk, build trust, and grow with confidence, knowing their data protection responsibilities are fully under control.
The Challenge
CSRB had an existing website – previously developed by Soto – that excelled in instilling trust in their customers. But following a period of significant growth and development, a few changes were needed to better reflect the current service offerings, and speak more directly to the organisation’s target audience.
The original site was initially aimed at smaller businesses. However, with the organisation now seeking to partner with customers requiring DPO support, the target audience had shifted to include larger enterprises.
While the company explored the idea of partnerships with other agencies, they ultimately decided to return to Soto, as they felt we had built a good partnership and demonstrated our ability to help CSRB achieve digital success.
The vision was to make things simpler and more concise, enabling businesses of all sizes to access the information they needed quickly and easily. CSRB also wanted to use the website as an opportunity to share the brand’s personality and showcase a more human side to the organisation.
How We Helped
For this piece of work CSRB put together a dream team partnership with WSI Waverley taking care of structure and digital marketing and Tim Martin at Selling Service penning the content.
Together, we started by removing specific elements to streamline content and make it easier for visitors to find and absorb information.
The team’s vision was of a site with more personality that would connect with visitors on a deeper level. To help achieve this, we made better use of photography and imagery – upgrading from the former site’s more basic media – to offer some visual insight into the organisation as a whole. We also developed content with a tighter focus on Chris’ expertise, demonstrating his unique talent in the sector.
We knew from having worked with CSRB before that sustainability was built into their operations and processes; something that we value here at Soto, too. We strived to make the new website as eco-friendly as possible, and the final product generates just 0.35g of CO2 per page view. This makes it cleaner than 62% of websites in the world; a win for us, and for the planet.
